Jarrett's first Christmas

Hope everyone is having/had a blessed Christmas day. We finally got a little sneg(snow) just enough to cover the dulness of this time of year. We had a feast at the home of one of the members here. All the missionaries (9 of us) were invited plus some of our leaders. It was a very nice gathering. We have been to the center of town three nights this week to sing and pass out invitations to the public. We have had several people who wish to know more about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is always great to see people want the Lord in their life.
Jarrett ,pun'kin, great nannie misses you! (and the rest of you too)

The country is beautiful. Lots of mountains. Very clean and neat. Very few rundown buildings and those that are, if they are fit to live in, are clean and neat looking on the outside. I am sleeping on a sofa bed in a shared room. It is more comfortable than I thought and they made it clear that they are getting me a bed. I think the sofa is fine so I told them I wouold let them know if I need a bed.

Being a fairly large European city, there is a considerable amount of the CENTER (of the city) that is not open to any thing but pedestrian and permitted delivery vehicles. This makes for a very good area for families to stroll and browse. The booths are regular shop buildings, the ground is paved with granite or tile and the buildings are very ornate, and there are churches and other types of buildings. There are several bridges in this one. There are lots of vendors of all types depending on the season.

Please don't forget to answer my e-mail I just sent to some of you because i need to know who is getting my mail and who isn't.
God bless you everyone!

Welcome The Christmas Season

If you got an e-mail that there is something new on my blog, remember that I am counting on you to notify others about it .

Well I finally got back into the posting area of this blog. I am on " visa delay" status with the mission right now. My new fly date is December 22nd. This has really provided a great opportunity for me to learn the language. I am in the young missionaries full language program with classes at least 8 hours a day plus gym.
Pretty intense and I am tired but getting a lot out of it. We have great devotionals and firesides every week and the spirit and enthusiasm of every one is very uplifting. They don't try to hide the fact that it will be very dificult, but we all feel and know we are doing the Lord's work and we are ready for it and it is worth it.
He is in charge and the work will go forward.

I went shopping yesterday and got a new winter coat and a pair of very expensive and according to every one very comfortable shoes which I wore for an hour and a half last night and they KILLED My feet. I haven't worn them outside so I can take them back but that is probably going to wait till next Tuesday.
the coat is great and the other little things I needed were easily acquired. the lady who took me shopping was a very active and kind 73 yr old. She drove great.

We had a great time.

Last night at the fireside I ended up seated beside (Me-shall )(sp) Knowles!! I got there late and was really bumed about that but was trying not to fuss and just go with the lord's timing. If things had gone as I had hoped I would not have sat where I did and we might never have gotten together.

I consider his dad a very dear acquaintence and brother in the Gospel so I want to let the dad and mom know he is doing just fine, looks great, is in great spirits and anxious to get in the field doing the work. We will be serving in adjoining missions but will probably not see each other while we are serving. He is from the Auburn Ward.

Love you all and lahko noch

The most dangerous cake recipe
8 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour4 tablespoons sugar2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

love you all

Remember to pause on Tuesday and thank God for all the Veterans past present and future.
I especially want to thank my Dad USN; Son Troy USA Retired; Brother Greg USAF Retired; My uncles John USA; Alan USMC; and Ted USAF Retired; and nephew Chuck USCG Retired. If I left out anyone I apologize. Please let me know and be assured that I am grateful to you too.
God Bless The USA

Bumps in the Road Make for..?,,,- Bruised places

Slovenia has decided to use a new Visa process so today I went to the Church Office Building to sign a NEW visa application and start that 4-5 week process---again! I will probably still go to the MTC {missionary training center} on the tenth for training , then be assigned for a temporary position here in Utah. Did some more shoping today and also visited with Mandy Blake and Karen Mcbride families.

I made it to UTAH!!!!

The fun has begun. Supper at the Cheese Factory!!!

SNOW today!!!

off to shop for last minute stuff

The flights were super easy and hauling around a 50 pound suitcase, a 35 pound carry on bag and a 40 pound backpack was a real work out.

Thanks Lisa for trying to keep me in shape.
